Over the weekend, Lubbock saw one of its iconic steakhouses close its doors for good without notice, and many people asked why.

On Oct. 26, Lubbock residents arrived at the restaurant to find a locked door and a sign that read, “Thank you for being loyal customers. Unfortunately, this business is PERMANENTLY CLOSED.”

The community flocked to social media with mixed feelings about their experiences and memories of the steakhouse that has served Lubbock for the past 25 years.

However, the reason for its sudden and without warning closure was never explained.

Avalanche-Journal reached out to the restaurant that asked the question and received the following statement:

“Logan’s Roadhouse has proudly served the Lubbock community for more than 25 years. After closely evaluating the market, we have made the difficult decision to close this location on October 26. It has been our privilege to be a part of this great city, and we thank our loyal guests for their support. “
