The man, who appeared to be wearing nothing but a pair of briefs, was seen on his hands and knees painting “LA Champs” on a Los Angeles sidewalk in front of an advancing column of police decked out in heavy riot gear.

As the cops approached, a crowd of revelers encouraged the blue man to finish him off. But as they began to charge, the crowd dispersed, and he realized that discretion was the better part of valor.

A man in the crowd was grabbed by his backpack by police officers and dragged along the pavement, according to shocking footage recorded by journalist Sean Beckner-Carmichael.

It is unknown who the blue man is and what happened to him.
