North Abaco Congressman Kirk Cornish was found not guilty of two counts of rape by a unanimous verdict in court this afternoon. He was also cleared of assault and death threat charges.

The crowd erupted into cheers when Mr Cornish was acquitted by the court.

The nine-member jury found Mr Cornish not guilty of assault on three of the six jurors, as well as making death threats.

Judge Renae McKay presided over the hearing. Mr Cornish was represented by Tai Pinder-Mackey. Timothy Bailey was the prosecutor.
