KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – A woman was accused of stealing $40,000 to $50,000 in scratch-off lottery tickets from her business, according to a police report obtained by WVLT News.

The report alleges that 35-year-old Siarrah Truhn purchased and activated lottery tickets while working at a convenience store on Maryville Pike.

It was a call from the Lottery Commission that sparked the investigation. The store owner told police he spent hours on the phone trying to find out what happened and eventually determined Truhn had bought the tickets.

Police then went to the Kroger on Chapman Highway; Those who worked there said Truhn used several thousand dollars of scratched ticket money. The report stated that the employees hid the tickets and reported this to the lottery commission.

Truhn told police he refunded the business for the tickets, but the business owner said the amounts did not match. He was charged with theft and computer crimes.
