Purdue Won’t Promo Chicken Sandwiches at Mackey Arena This Year

There’s a disappointing development in West Lafayette: The free chicken sandwich promotion at Purdue men’s basketball games is ending. Mike Carmin of GoldandBlack.com He broke the sad news Wednesday night before the Boilermakers’ exhibition game against Grand Valley State.

Fans attending Purdue basketball games last season received a free chicken sandwich from Slim Chickens restaurant if the opponent missed two free throws during a trip to the foul line. It was a promotion that fans loved, especially the students from The Paint Crew.

However, unfortunately, he could not continue in the 2024-25 season. It’s like they want college students to starve to death.

There is some good news, though. Carmin reported that a pair of missed free throws would result in an order of free fries from The Tap in West Lafayette.

So fans at least have something to be excited about when it comes to missed free throws at Mackey Arena this year. Better than nothing, right?

The free fries promotion will begin on Monday, Nov. 4, when Purdue hosts Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in the season opener. Tip-off is scheduled for 6pm ET and the game will be broadcast on the Big Ten Network.

We will see if free potatoes will be offered to fans in the first match of the season.
