King Charles has not responded to phone calls and letters from his estranged son, Prince Harry, according to a royal writer.

The 75-year-old monarch, who has cancer, has reportedly been urged not to respond to desperate attempts to reach out to the Duke of Sussex to “keep stress levels low”.

“I hear people say, ‘Why doesn’t she see Harry when she’s in town?’ I know you said. Why can’t they fix things?’ royal writer Robert Hardman he told Fox News.

“But right now there is a feeling that we should keep the king’s stress level low. We don’t want him to have extra things to worry about. Let’s get over this… I have a feeling that now is probably not the time.”

“If you listen to what Harry says in the television series, in his book, in interviews, there’s a lot to explain,” said Hardman, author of “The Making of a King: King Charles III and the Modern Monarchy.”

The royal biographer added that the king still had “a lot of things he wants to figure out.”

“There’s a feeling that it’s not the time right now. “But I’m sure the king would like to normalize things,” he added.

It was reported earlier this month that: Queen Camilla put her foot down and urged Charles to avoid meeting Harry during the estranged duke’s recent trip to London.

Harry visited his hometown in September for a series of charity events, but no royal meeting took place, despite being in the same time zone as his estranged father.

Camilla reportedly advised her sick husband to stay away from their young son in order to avoid unnecessary stress during her health battle, her friend said. he told The Daily Beast..

“(Camilla) has been the main voice urging Charles to slow down and take things easy,” the friend told the press earlier this month. “The last thing he wants her to do is get stressed about her meeting with Harry.”

Charles has only seen Harry once this year; when the duke flew to England in February after hearing of his father’s cancer diagnosis.

Harry returned to London in May and made clear that he was willing to meet with his father to discuss the possibility of reconciliation.

However, the meeting did not take place.

The father of two has publicly stated that he was disappointed that he could not meet his father during his speedy flight to England, but said he hoped the pair could meet in the future.
