Nearly three weeks after a camper was killed in Montana, a suspect has been arrested. was found brutally murdered Authorities received information late Wednesday about the attack, which was initially reported as a bear attack.

The sheriff’s office said in a statement Wednesday that the investigation is ongoing but “the suspect is believed to have acted alone and is no longer a threat to the community.”

But the state’s wildlife official found no sign of bear activity, and investigators soon said they found evidence of a “savage attack.” An autopsy later showed that Kjersem had suffered “multiple slash wounds”, including to his skull.

Kjersem’s sister, Jillian Price, said her brother was a skilled tradesman and a loving father.
