British businessman charged with murdering Indonesian aide in Hong Kong

A British businessman was charged with murder on Thursday after an Indonesian domestic servant was found dead in a waterfall in southern Hong Kong.

The 34-year-old British citizen, who has a Hong Kong ID card, was arrested with his wife at the high-speed train station in West Kowloon when they returned to the city on Tuesday.

A police spokesman said the case would be heard in the Eastern Court on Friday morning.

Police said the man went to Waterfall Bay Park near Wah Fu Mansion in Pok Fu Lam with the victim around 11pm on Sunday, then took a taxi alone and drove away.

The man’s wife, a 36-year-old local woman, was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. He was released on bail and must report to police late next month.
