TWENTY-SEVEN-YEAR-OLD Hansi Jones, of Lot 111 Mitchel Street, Sophia, Georgetown, was arrested on October 26, 2024, following multiple allegations of crimes involving illegal firearms and narcotics.
Authorities detained Jones on charges of possession of an unlicensed firearm, possession of unlicensed ammunition, possession of firearm parts and possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.
Jones faced formal charges under the Firearms Act Section 16(2)(a), Section 16:05 and Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (Control) Section 5(1)(a)(i) on 30 October 2024. ) Act, Chapter 10:10. Appearing before Magistrate Sunil Scarce at Diamond/Grove Magistrates’ Court, he pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Judge Scarce ordered Jones sent to prison and his next hearing is scheduled for November 25, 2025, when depositions are expected to be presented in court.
