    The video is from Priyanka Gandhi’s 2024 Lok Sabha election campaign in Nandurbar, Maharashtra and has nothing to do with Wayanad’s election campaign.

What is the claim?

A video showing a large crowd enthusiastically raising their hands and waving Congress flags is gaining traction on social media. In the video, All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, dressed in light blue, stands on a car and greets her supporters.

The video is doing the rounds claiming to show Gandhi’s final rally in the Wayanad parliamentary constituency in India’s southern state of Kerala ahead of the November 13 elections.

A user on X (formerly Twitter) shared the clip with a caption in Hindi: “Large crowd gathered at Priyanka Gandhi’s Wayanad campaign.” The post had received more than 25,000 views at the time of writing this story. You can find archived versions of the post Here, HereAnd Here.

However, we learned that this video was from a rally held by Priyanka Gandhi in Nandurbar district of the western Indian state of Maharashtra in May 2024 during the Lok Sabha elections.

What did we find?

When we did a reverse image search, we saw that the same post was uploaded to: Facebook (archived Here) with Goa Congress state president Amit Patkar on May 11, 2024. Using this clue we found: Gandhi He had addressed a Lok Sabha election campaign rally for Congress candidate Gowaal Padvi in ​​Nandurbar district of Maharashtra on the same day.

On May 11, 2024, Gandhi posted a similar video on his official account. Instagram account (archived Here), “Nandurbar, Maharashtra.” It bore the title. Upon closer inspection, both the Instagram video and the viral clip share striking visual elements, especially the distinctive brown building visible in both.

Gandhi is also seen greeting his supporters in the same blue outfit. These details indicate that the footage is from his rally in Nandurbar.

The clip was also shared on the official website of the Indian Youth Congress. YouTube channel (archived Here) And Facebook account (archived Here) on May 11.

Lok Sabha by-polls in Wayanad

The Wayanad Lok Sabha elections were necessitated by Congress MP Rahul Gandhi’s decision to vacate the seat to focus on Rae Bareli, another constituency he won in the Lok Sabha elections earlier this year.

On October 15, the Election Commission announced that bypolls for Wayanad will be held on November 13. Congress party has chosen Priyanka Gandhi as its candidate for this constituency. He filed his nomination papers and campaigned in Wayanad on October 28 and 29.
