A city resident started a new consulting business this month to fill a void and live his passion.

Christina VanWert founded Christina VanWert Counseling LLC on Oct. 1 at The Anthracite Center, 41 N. Main St., Suite 307. The business offers services related to marriage/relationship counseling, connection/intimacy issues, trauma and mood disorders such as post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, and anxiety. depression, ADHD management, and stress/emotion regulation.

“There is a great need for this in this field, but there are very few therapists and they have very long waiting lists,” he said. “I love what I do, so I wanted to stay close to home and give back to my community.”

VanWert previously served as a consultant at Thaxton Center for Holistic Health, which has eight locations in the area.
