Most obituaries published in the Reading Eagle are submitted through funeral homes and cremation services, but we will also accept applications from families. Obituaries can be emailed to [email protected].

In addition to the obituary text, any photos you would like to include can be attached to this email. Please place the obituary text in a Word document, a Google doc, or in the body of the email. The Reading Eagle also requests a way to verify death; Therefore, please include the phone number of the funeral home or cremation service responsible for the care of the deceased or a photo of the death certificate. We also ask that your full name, phone number and address be included in this email.

All payments by families must be made by credit card. We will send proof of the completed obituary before requesting payment. However, the obituary cannot be published until full payment is received.

Obituaries can be submitted for any future date, but to be published they must be received no later than 3pm the day before publication.
