He admitted that he didn’t actually see Ice Cube, and didn’t seem to catch the Fat Joe performance either – and while he probably didn’t like the content, he was mainly angry that the games were delayed in the first place. causing him to stay up later to catch pitches and finishes.

Chris Russo wants music performances to stop ahead of the World Series. ESPN

“I went to the game last night… Listen, I don’t like the music. They might put Jackson Browne in Los Angeles to play ‘Running on Empty’ or Bruce (Springsteen) to play ‘Rosalita’ before the game at Yankee Stadium, but GIVE ME BASEBALL FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!” Russo began.

“The match started at 8:18! I don’t want anyone to…Stop the Super Bowl! This is during the break. End of NBA! This is during the break. This is a baseball game. Let me sit there and watch the game! It starts at 8:18! It was supposed to start at 8:08 but it’s 8:18. I need to sleep and (wake up early) with these clowns! This is ridiculous!

“Give him the game without all the bells and whistles,” he demanded.

“Come on, I don’t want rock and roll. I don’t want rap. I don’t want anything! Russo continued.

“I want (Joe) DiMaggio, (Mickey) Mantle, (Babe) Ruth and (Loui) Gehrig! That’s all I want! Give me a baseball game! Music is bullshit. Same thing in Los Angeles!”
