KANSAS (KSNT) – The National Weather Service (NWS) in Topeka is in a hazardous weather outlook for central, north central and northeastern Kansas, with the possibility of tornadoes.

Tornadoes, damaging winds, large hail and severe thunderstorms are expected this afternoon through the evening, according to the NWS. The NWS is asking weather observers to report severe weather.

The region faces the greatest risk from damaging winds, according to KSNT Meteorologist Ely Millard.

NWS issued the hazardous weather outlook for Republic, Washington, Marshall, Nemaha, Brown, Cloud, Clay, Riley, Pottawatomie, Jackson, Jefferson, Ottawa, Dickinson, Geary, Morris, Wabaunsee, Shawnee at 5:34 a.m. on Oct. 30. , Douglas, Lyon, Osage, Franklin, Coffey and Anderson counties.

Ely Millard said the storm is moving from west to east and will likely enter the Junction City and Manhattan area around 3 to 5 p.m. and the Topeka area around 5 to 7 p.m.
