SUMMIT COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) – Two teenagers were killed in a house fire in Coventry Township early Wednesday morning.

Coventry County Fire Chief Adam Rockich said an elderly woman was also injured in the fire and was treated in the Akron Children’s Hospital burn unit.

Flames broke out around 3 a.m. in the 600 block of Cove Boulevard. In the Portage Lakes area.

Chief Rockich said a Summit County Sheriff’s deputy was first on the scene and attempted to enter the home, but the flames were too intense.

Both young people were found in bedrooms on separate floors.

The cause of the fire is under investigation and the Ohio State Fire Marshal was called to the scene.
