SCBA Passes Order Condemning Lathi’s Allegation of Violence Against Lawyers in Ghaziabad District Court; Investigation Requested Against District Judge

The Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) passed a resolution condemning the recent charge of violence against lawyers by lathis in the Ghaziabad Court in Uttar Pradesh on the directions of the District Court Judge. SCBA also requested an investigation against Hakim.

According to SCBA, the incident took place under the direction of Ghaziabad District and Sessions Judge, Mr. Anil Kumar-X. The association said it would not tolerate any attack on the prestige of lawyers and demanded immediate action by the Allahabad High Court and the Government of Uttar Pradesh.

SCBA made several requests, including:

  1. Requesting an inquiry into the conduct of Mr. Anil Kumar-X (Capt. District and Sessions Judge), Ghaziabad, by the Hon’ble Chief Justice of the Allahabad High Court, presided over by the Hon’ble Chief Justice of the Allahabad High Court, Hon’ble Administrative Judge of the Allahabad High Court, who deals with the affairs of Ghaziabad District. With his judge.
  2. Investigate the incident and bring the guilty Ld. District and Sessions Judge and police officers were brought to justice.
  3. Mr. Anil Kumar-X (Judicial District and Sessions Judge) Ghaziabad and reject the services of the police officers responsible for the lathi charge.
  4. Pay compensation to injured lawyers.
  5. Take precautions to prevent such incidents from happening again.
  6. Enactment and implementation of the Lawyers Protection Law to protect lawyers and their families against such brutal events.
  7. Take steps to improve the law and order situation in the state and ensure that police personnel are accountable for their actions.

SCBA also called on the Bar Council of India and all State Bar Councils to take necessary steps to protect the rights of lawyers and ensure that they can discharge their duties without any harassment or violence.

“The Supreme Court Bar Association stands in solidarity with the advocates of Ghaziabad and promises to do everything in its power to ensure justice is served.”
