(WFRV) – Authorities in Manitowoc County say a man was recently arrested on multiple charges including theft, destruction of property and trespassing.

According to the statement made by Manitowoc County Sheriff’s OfficeMark L. Plagemann was arrested by deputies on October 23 following a three-week investigation into a series of copper thefts.

The Sheriff’s Office says one person was injured in a shooting at a BP gas station in Wisconsin.

Deputies say the investigation revealed Plagemann was allegedly involved in breaking into a local business and stealing $30,000 worth of copper wire.

On October 24, Plagemann was due to appear at a bail hearing on charges of theft, trespassing, criminal damage to property and possession of burglary tools, as well as habitual offense enhancement charges.

During the hearing, authorities said bail was set at $2,500 and Plagemann would also remain in custody for a probation violation.
