LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — The weather is beautiful outside in Lexington and October is terrifying. But the Christmas cheer has already arrived and has been planted in the middle of Tates Creek Road for all to see.

A few days ago a Facebook post about the Christmas tree started circulating. Hundreds of curious commentators expressed their gratitude and joy for this bright surprise. Many people also wonder who decorated the city-owned tree and why.

“I noticed bright little lights out of the corner of my eye. Then I looked over and it was like there was a Christmas tree and it gave me a huge smile,” explains Lexington resident Crystal Bruder, who thanked the mystery person. or a double for a Christmas gift.

“Thank you for that little happiness, even if it was a funny joke for them or they did something they didn’t realize would make an impact. I thank them for that little happiness every time I see them.” On the way home at night,” Bruder said.

Some residents note that Halloween hasn’t arrived yet, but the little decor that lines Tates Creek Road is worth it. “I saw the tree a few days ago, and you know it was October, it was like, ‘What’s that doing there?’ “I mean, it’s not actually the time for this, so it seemed very interesting to me, but I think it’s a sweet little Christmas tree on the side of the road,” explains Luke Perry, wondering if it’s even possible. The tree is decorated with tinsel, ornaments, Coca-Cola cans and candy canes. Just like Christmas morning, gifts are under the tree to spark that holiday cheer.

Is he cute during the day, but burns at night? The answer is yes. Six small solar panels power the tree’s lights, which light up for everyone to see when the sun goes down.

“Maybe it’s time for everyone to be nice to each other. Treat people the way you want to be treated, maybe that’s a sign that someone is saying, ‘I’m tired of this, let’s all get together,'” said Scott Friend. I saw the tree for the first time on Tuesday.
