BRADENTON, Fla. (WWSB) – Ladarrian Carnes was arrested on October 20 for burglarizing Trinity Lutheran Church and attempting to use credit cards stolen from the pastor’s purse.

Surveillance footage shows Carnes entering the church office and leaving a short time later.

The priest arrived at the church before Carnes entered but was unaware he was there.

While Carnes was in the building, the priest’s driver’s license, four credit cards and cash were taken from his purse.

The priest reported the crime the next day after receiving notifications of suspicious activity from his banks.

A surveillance photo posted on BPD’s social media accounts resulted in several leads.

Carnes was arrested on October 28 and booked into the Manatee County Jail. He faces felony charges including burglary of an occupied building and fraudulent use of a credit card.

The investigation continues.
