TYSONS, Va. – A street racing video was shot Tysons, Virginia After Elon Musk’s post, it becomes viral with more than 75 million views on social media.

The video, which lasts less than 30 seconds, shows a blue Lamborghini racing a Tesla Cybertruck on Leesburg Pike or Route 7. (Cybertruck wins, so Musk reposted the video).

Ryan Haggerty works nearby and heard about the race before he saw it. He said the incident took place around 2pm late last week.

The clip shows a crowd lined up on the sidewalk with their phones out, recording the fast race.

Another angle on Instagram shows an image of the Lamborghini’s passenger.

Haggerty said he often sees supercars trying to race each other in the area, but it’s usually late at night.

Mansour Ghaderi is often around Tysons and said a few weeks ago that aggressive driving affected him.

“There was a guy who chased me into the parking lot of Tysons Corner, he got out and put a gun to my stomach because he said I wasn’t going fast enough,” Ghaderi said. “I said, ‘I didn’t know you were following me.'”

Street racing is banned in Virginia as a form of reckless driving.

Fairfax Police created a task force earlier this year to crack down on car meets and street takeovers, and it was effective, the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors said at a legislative meeting Tuesday morning.

Still, those who have seen this viral video say they love watching it as long as it’s safe.

“They generally seem to be pretty smart about it,” Haggerty said. “I like people to be safe, I like to go home and not have anyone get hit by a car or any of that shit scare them because when I heard that it scared me.”

A woman who saw the video laughed and said, “If it’s a busy intersection, be careful, but it’s at their discretion. Hey, if you can pay for all the tickets, just keep racing.”

Fairfax County police said officers with the Traffic Division are actively investigating the incident. It is not yet clear what charges the drivers may face.
