Police are investigating a homicide in South Charlotte after a man was found dead from a gunshot wound inside a car.

Around midnight, officers responded to James Blakeney Boulevard near Rea Road in reference to an injury crash.

When police arrived at the scene, they found a man in the vehicle with a gunshot wound. He was declared dead at the scene by the doctor.

It is unclear at this time what led to the crash or shooting.
