Cafeteria worker at a high school Florida He was accused of sending sexually explicit images to a student.

Ashley Pearce, a 39-year-old cafeteria worker at Merritt Island High School, was arrested by Brevard County Sheriff’s deputies on Monday.

The student who took the photos reported the incident to local sheriff’s deputies, and an investigation was launched against Pearce.

He is accused of transmitting harmful information to minors via an electronic device. Florida today.

In addition to working in the high school cafeteria, Pearce is an after-school child care provider at Andersen Elementary School. He was suspended from both jobs.

Investigators said Pearce gave his social media information to a student and instructed them to follow him. After the student did this, the two began sending direct messages to each other. The student allegedly blocked Pearce after he sent her a picture of her breasts and reported the interaction to police.

Pearce was arrested and transported to the Brevard County Jail Complex on a $2,500 bond. The hearing date has not yet been set.

School officials shared a message with parents Monday warning them about the arrest.

“Police arrested a female food services employee who sent inappropriate photos to an underage male student at Merritt Island High School. Brevard Public Schools is fully cooperating with the Brevard County Sheriff (BCSO) in their investigation of this incident,” the school said in the statement. “We understand how disturbing this news may be to our community. The safety and well-being of students at our school is always our top priority. “This is an active and ongoing police investigation.”

Deputies are reportedly still investigating whether there are additional victims.
