Duncan Regional Hospital highlights Breast Cancer Awareness Month

WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) – Every October we wear pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month; This is a very burning issue for many people, especially considering that one in eight women will experience it.

Duncan Regional Hospital explains that new treatments are bringing hope, making the call for screening more important than ever.

Although the recommended age to start breast cancer screening is 40, DRH said the key is to do it every year so the radiologist has something to compare it to.

DRH imaging also performs on-site genetic testing and offers breast MRIs and breast ultrasounds if necessary. They even provide a nurse navigator to follow the patient through the process if diagnosed.

While DRH knows getting a mammogram can be scary, they are proud of the level of care they provide.
