A FIRST ON FOX: A Department of Homeland Security (DHS) official told colleagues: Vice President Kamala Harris The decision to choose Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as vice president “feeds into” activities that the People’s Republic of China (PRC) has been carrying out “with him and the local government” and warns that Beijing could “target” him for influence on US policy is available.

Chairman of the House Oversight Committee James ComerR-Ky., R-Ky., launched an investigation in August into Walz’s alleged “longstanding” ties to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

Last month, Comer subpoenaed DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas for records related to the alleged contacts, as well as additional intelligence reports that allegedly contained information about Walz’s identity, after a whistleblower notified the committee of the existence of a non-confidential Microsoft Teams group chat between DHS employees. He was alleged to have connections with the CCP.

On Tuesday, Comer wrote a letter to Mayorkas publicly announcing that DHS “did not respond to the subpoena.”

Now Comer has unilaterally released some of the DHS internal communications he received from the whistleblower.

“Walt (sic) picked up the VP,” the message, whose sender’s identity has been redacted, reads. “You have no idea how this relates to what the People’s Republic of China is doing here with him and the local government.”

The official added: “This is serious intelligence. Target someone who might be heading to DC.”

“The Committee is publishing the above message as a sample of communications in DHS’s possession in which DHS officials express concerns about CCP’s targeting of politicians and their influence operations at the state and local levels, and specifically concerns about CCP’s influence operations as they relate to the Governor. To Walz,” Comer wrote in a letter to Mayorkas on Tuesday.

Comer explained that the message was sent between DHS employees using a Microsoft Teams group chat titled “NST NFT Biweekly Sync”; This was the same conversation described in Comer’s subpoena.

Meanwhile, Comer said, a whistleblower provided the committee with further information indicating that officials from the DHS Office of Intelligence and Analysis and Homeland Security Investigations were involved in the agency’s investigative and/or intelligence work related to the state of Minnesota and the CCP. “The Committee’s concerns about CCP elite capture operations attempting to influence public officials such as Governor Walz, Governor Walz’s extensive travel history, have intensified due to recent reports of unusual interactions within Governor Walz. People’s Republic of China, and his recent failure to answer basic questions about his involvement in China,” Comer wrote.

Comer is also subpoenaing all intelligence information reports and regional intelligence memos regarding Walz from November 2023 to the present.

Last month, Comer revealed that Walz had “engaged and partnered” with Chinese institutions, making him “susceptible” to the CCP’s strategy of “elite capture” of influential people in elite political, cultural and academic circles. “It will affect the United States to the benefit of the communist regime and to the detriment of Americans.”

Comer noted reports that Walz organized a trip to China for Alliance High School students while working as a teacher in the 1990s. The costs were reportedly “paid by the Chinese government.”

Comer is affiliated with “Educational Travel Adventures, Inc.”, a company Walz founded in 1994 and managed by Walz, which coordinated annual student trips to China until 2003. He is investigating a private company called.

The company reportedly “disbanded four days after Congress took office in 2007.”

Walz has traveled to China an estimated “30 times,” Comer said.

Comer also noted Walz’s time in Congress while serving as a faculty member at Macau Polytechnic University (a Chinese institution that describes itself as having “long-standing devotion and love for the motherland”).

In 2019, Walz chaired the 27th National Convention of the US Chinese People’s Friendship Association in Minnesota. Walz also spoke alongside the chairman of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries. A year later, the House Oversight Committee found that the State Department had accused the organization of “subverting local governments,” including efforts to “directly and maliciously influence state and local leaders in support of the PRC’s global agenda.” revealed that it was a “Beijing-based organization tasked with absorbing clarified.

On the subject of the subpoena, Comer said DHS was “unresponsive” and not operating in “good faith.”

Comer said DHS “failed to produce the required documentation.”

Last week, Comer said he spoke with DHS’s senior adviser for legislative affairs during an Oct. 21 phone call, but the official “did not provide any substantive information or any assurance that substantive information would be forthcoming.”

“DHS has been completely unresponsive and the Committee is considering all available options,” Comer wrote. “The documents covered by the Committee’s subpoena will inform the Committee’s understanding of the CCP’s political war against the United States and how effectively federal agencies countered the communist regime’s infiltration operations.”
