(WASHINGTON) — With the race a week away from Election Day, Kamala Harris is set to deliver her “closing speech” at The Ellipse on Tuesday night — at the same spot where Donald Trump gathered his supporters to march on Jan. 6, 2021. at the nearby U.S. Capitol.

Trump will try to block Harris’ remarks when he speaks to reporters at Mar-a-Lago on Tuesday morning after declaring her “the exact opposite of a Nazi” in Georgia on Monday night. He later held a rally in Allentown, Pennsylvania, with a large population of Puerto Rican Americans.

More than 47 million Americans voted early

More than 47 million Americans have voted early as of 5:45 a.m. Tuesday, according to the University of Florida Elections Lab.

24 million 243 thousand 105 of the early votes were cast in person, and 23 million 384 thousand 971 were returned by mail.

There is now only a week left until election day.

ABC News Senior Congressional Correspondent Rachel Scott reports that the former president has denied knowing the comedian, who made a series of racist, sexist and vulgar comments at his rally at Madison Square Garden.

Comedian Tony Hinchcliffe made headlines when he called Puerto Rico a “floating island of garbage.”

“I don’t know him, someone put him there. I don’t know who he is,” Trump told ABC’s Scott.

Trump also insisted that he had not heard any of the comments, even though they had been televised and written about extensively. When asked what he thought of them, he did not take the opportunity to condemn them and repeated that he had not heard the comments.

Trump has expressed confidence that he will win the White House with only a week left.

His closing remarks will underscore what he claims is Americans’ desire for Trump to “turn the page” by highlighting his plans and priorities for the country, namely the economy. The vice president has promised to cut costs and prioritize the middle class in an “economy of opportunity.”

Fallout continues with comedian’s comment about Puerto Rico at Trump rally

Trump will speak to reporters at 10 a.m. ET in Florida before heading to Pennsylvania, a swing state with a significant Puerto Rican population.

Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, a Democrat, said in a radio interview Monday: “We are the proud home of nearly half a million Puerto Ricans. “I am proud to be their governor.”

Trump’s campaign has tried to distance itself from comedian Tony Hinchcliffe by saying his comments do not reflect his views. Trump’s running mate, Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance, told reporters Monday that he didn’t see the comedian’s comment but that people should “stop being so offended.”

Trump did not address the Puerto Rican comment at his rally in Georgia on Monday night, but called the New York City event “one of the greatest rallies in the history of the world.”

Former President Barack Obama, meanwhile, criticized Trump for his anti-immigrant rhetoric at the MSG rally while campaigning for Harris. “These are the citizens he’s talking about,” Obama told the crowd gathered in Philadelphia.
