A serious crash involving a Calgary police cruiser and a passenger car occurred on 12th Avenue SE near Macleod Trail and Stampede Park Monday night.

It happened around 18.30

It appears that one of the police car’s rear passenger doors was torn off due to the impact of the crash, joining the damage to the front of the second car.

A serious crash involving a Calgary police cruiser and a passenger car occurred on 12th Avenue SE near Macleod Trail and Stampede Park Monday night.

The two police officers in the cruiser and the occupants of the other vehicle were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Traffic on Macleod Trail and surrounding streets was backed up or closed.

The traffic unit is investigating what happened.
