A wealthy Utah mother was accused of shooting her sleeping husband and bury him in a shallow grave After a screaming match about her relationship, she is now whining about not being allowed to contact her children in prison.

The lawyer of 41-year-old Jennifer Gledhill, who allegedly killed her husband, complained at Friday’s hearing that she “lost her freedom” and accused the judge presiding over the case of “setting everything she loved on fire” by banning her from talking to her three children. , Fox 13 reported.

The children, ages 5, 7 and 11, have been in the custody of child services since their mother’s arrest for allegedly killing her husband, Matthew Johnson, at their home in Cottonwood Heights, near Salt Lake City.

According to media reports, Gledhill, who was murdered in cold blood, allegedly confessed to sleeping with another man after a drunken night.

After a violent shout, authorities say he shot Johnson in the head while he slept, buried him in a shallow grave, and took his family into the military to help him clean up the crime scene.

Police have not yet found Johnson’s body.

Gledhill had reported her husband missing, but a man claiming to be her lover told police that the woman had told him about the murder.

Police detained his parents (71-year-old Thomas Ray Gledhill and 67-year-old Rosalie Christianson Gledhill) on Thursday for allegedly obstructing justice.

“The defendant told the informant that he shot Mr. Johnson while he was asleep in his bed (the next day),” Salt Lake District Attorney Sim Gill told the court.

“He told the reporter that he placed Mr. Johnson’s body in a storage container on the roof, slid him down the stairs of their home, and loaded his body into the back of the van.”

The prosecutor added that Gledhill “then took her husband’s body north, dug a hole and buried him in a shallow grave.”

According to Fox 13, Gledhill’s attorney argued that her children were not victims of domestic violence in this case or before, so Gledhill should be allowed contact.

He also claimed the original contactless order was “misplaced and allowed.”

Judge Adam Mow agreed to lift the initial protective order but issued a separate no-contact order banning Glendhill from contacting his children. But Mow said he may be willing to loosen those restrictions as the case progresses.

Gledhill faces one count of first-degree murder, five counts of second-degree felony obstruction of justice and felony drug possession, witness tampering and desecration of the human body.
