With a mission to build a better food system in Gloucester, Wiggly Charity and Project Grow have launched a Crowdfunding campaign to launch a handmade sauce to be sold across the county, creating a revenue stream to support social impact work.

United in an effort to empower and upskill vulnerable, excluded and disabled people of all ages and abilities to learn to cultivate and cook good food for themselves, the two organizations develop healthy, handcrafted seasonal sauces and preserves, with all profits fueling sustainability. growing projects and cooking classes.

While every container of the Social Resource ‘serves real social change’, fThe team takes an inclusive approach from soil to jar, offering volunteering opportunities in gardens and kitchens to support the development of employability skills among the Social Resource support team.

All products are handmade in small batches, using only simple seasonal ingredients, with no additives or preservatives, by Wiggly Charity chef Ryan, supported by kitchen assistant Tom and other volunteers.

All fruit and vegetables used in the products are grown and harvested in Gloucester by the amazing Social Source volunteers; This gives people a full opportunity to volunteer in gardens and kitchens and learn new skills that will put them on the path to independence. and employability.

The team has so far created a very special Bishop of Gloucester mulberry dessert sauce, made from berries picked from the bishop’s own garden by the Project Grow and Wiggly teams; A seasonal tomato and basil pasta sauce developed using chemical-free ingredients grown by volunteers at the Heritage Hub and produced in the Wiggly Charity kitchens on Westgate Street – andWatch out for upcoming seasonal changes featuring freshly picked red peppers and home-dried herbs.

The new Crowdfunder aims to raise £10,000 in the hope of contributing to Social Source’s first mass production run, developing a range of products and creating a larger quantity to be sold in independent Gloucestershire retail stores and online.

The crowdfunder’s supporters can gain access to exclusive prizes such as limited edition sauces for donations of £5 or more; cloth bags; a Follow the Flow cookbook signed by the author; and even the opportunity to sponsor a Social Resource group that features your business logo and contact information on jar labels and all promotional materials.
