COUNTY MCHENRY (Wales) — Three people have died and a teenager has been airlifted to hospital following a major crash in the north-west suburbs on Sunday afternoon.

McHenry County authorities said the crash occurred around 12:02 a.m. in the 13400 block of Davis Road in unincorporated Woodstock.

When first responders arrived and located the scene of the violent car crash, a vehicle was completely engulfed in flames, authorities said.

The teams rescued the child who was trapped in the silver SUV involved in the accident. The child was airlifted to a hospital in Maywood.

The driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene.

Firefighters found two people trapped in a black sedan. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

McHenry County officials said an SUV was struck by debris during the crash, but the driver and passenger were not injured.

The ages and genders of the people involved in the accident have not yet been disclosed. The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the cause of the crash.
