Congress Announces Fourth List of 14 Candidates, Replaces Andheri West Candidate

The Congress on Sunday released its fourth list of 14 candidates for the Maharashtra Assembly Polls. With its fourth list, the party has so far announced 99 candidates for the 20 November elections for the 288-member parliament.

Earlier on Saturday, the party released its third list of 16 candidates named after senior leader Manikrao Thakare for the assembly elections in Maharashtra.

On the latest list is Amalner’s Dr. They include Anil Nathu Shinde, Sanjay Narayanrao Meshram from Umred, Ramdas Masram from Armori, Pravin Nanaji Padwekar from Chandrapur, Santoshsingh Chandansingh Rawat from Ballarpur and Pravin Suresh Kakade from Warora.

Meanwhile, Abdul Sattar Abdul Gafur from Nanded North, Lahu H. Shewale from Aurangabad East, Sandeep Pandey from Nalasopara, Ashok Jadhav from Andheri West, Dattatrey Bahirat from Shivajinagar and Ramesh Anandrao Bhagwe from Pune Cantonment have fielded.

The Congress list also included Dilip Brahmadev Mane from South Solapur and Bhagirath Bhalke from Pandharpur. The party also replaced Aurangabad East candidate Madhukar Kishnarao Deshmukh, who was contesting from Shewale. Similarly, Sachin was replaced by Ashok Jadhav in Andheri West SawanT.

The Congress has also fielded Pravin Kakade from Warora in Chandrapur district, among other candidates. In the last Lok Sabha polls, Congress’s Warora MLA Pratibha Dhanorkar was elected MP from Chandrapur constituency. Sanjay Meshram was evicted from Umred seat, where Congress MLA Raju Parve left the party to contest the Ramtek Lok Sabha elections on a Shiv Sena ticket.

The fourth list comes at a time when talks on seat sharing are still ongoing with allies NCP(SP) and Shiv Sena (UBT) for the assembly elections in the state. Samajwadi Party announced earlier today that it has fielded candidates for 20 seats in Maharashtra after seat-sharing talks with Maha Vikas Aghadi failed to reach a conclusion.
