OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Omaha Police are investigating a crash in Millard that killed a driver Sunday.

Officers responded to the scene at 3:40 a.m. near 144th Street and Hillsdale Boulevard.

Crash investigators determined the driver was traveling northbound on 144th Street at speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour and then crashed into a utility pole. The car was found broken in two and in flames at the scene.

Omaha Fire Department paramedics pronounced the driver of the car, 24-year-old Brenden Patire, dead at the scene.

Police reported that the investigation is ongoing.
