Dr Imtiaz Sooliman slams reports that Givers’ Gift is funding terrorism

Dr Imtiaz Sooliman, founder of Gift of the Givers, has responded to allegations that his organization is financing terrorism.

This comes after a Jewish human rights lawyer claimed in an open letter that Gift of the Givers donated money to groups blacklisted as terrorist organizations by the US government.

Lawrence Nowosenetz, former president of the Board of Jewish Deputies, objected to the Helen Suzman Foundation’s invitation for Sooliman to give a Helen Suzman memorial lecture within two weeks.

Mantashe’s rallying cry: Hard work is key to reviving ANC support

ANC national president Gwede Mantashe said if the party’s officers in the government of national unity (GNU) worked hard they would boost the ANC’s flagging support.

Mantashe was speaking at a wreath-laying ceremony at the cemetery of ANC veteran Oliver Reginal Tambo in Ekurhuleni on Sunday.

Mantashe said ANC ministers could restore confidence in the party if they spoke about the achievements of their portfolios.

Expressing concern about several cases of food poisoning that have an impact on learning, the ministry said school time was being diverted to assist affected students with medical attention.

At least seven children have died and dozens have been hospitalized in Gauteng after eating snacks bought mainly from spaza shops.

Zimbabwean woman given 5-year suspended prison sentence for child abuse

The Burgersfort District Court sentenced a 32-year-old woman to a five-year prison sentence fully suspended for five years for child abuse and assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm (GBH).

The foreign national defendant was sentenced to three years in prison.

The court heard that the woman, a Zimbabwean citizen, harassed and assaulted her 10-year-old daughter and 7-year-old son in their home in October 2023.

Bulelani Nikani scored the only goal of the match in the 82nd minute.And While Sundowns suffered their first defeat of the season.

It was a well-deserved victory for the Limpopo team, who played without fear and looked the hungrier of the two teams. They restricted Sundowns to zero shots on target throughout the 90 minutes.

‘Shaka iLembe’ dominates SAFTAs with 12 Awards: Highlights and best wins

Shaka iLembe She dominated the 18th Annual South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs18) on 25 and 26 October, taking home 12 awards.
