NBA Fans React to Scary New Dwyane Wade Statue

Wade, an iconic player for the Miami Heat, helped the organization grow to three NBA Champion in 2006, 2012 and 2013 NBA Finals MVP in 2006.

It goes without saying that Wade is an integral part of Heat history. It is no surprise that they retired his number on February 22, 2020 and erected a statue in his honor in front of Kaseya Center.

Wade’s statue was officially unveiled today, and there was an extreme reaction from fans to its recreation.

The statue captures Wade’s iconic “This is my home” moment. However, fans think the sculptors completely missed the mark.

Another fan noted that the Heat were giving Wade “the Cristiano Ronaldo treatment.”

Wade’s statue also featured Laurence Fishburne, Kelsey Grammer and The villain of the movie ‘Mask’ Starring Jim Carrey.

Still, there was one person who was happy with the appearance of the statue: Dwyane Wade.

The statue was created by sculptors Oscar León and Omru Amrany, who also created “Michael Jordan Spirit” in Chicago. Kobe Bryant “Black Mamba” statue in Los Angeles and the recently unveiled “Kobe and Gianna Bryant Memorial Statue”.

Wade continued this optimism at the actual opening, saying: “You are all outside this body.”

If anyone deserves the Heat series, it’s Wade. He played in Miami between 2003-2016 and also played in 2018-2019, his last season.

During that time, Wade became the Heat’s all-time leader in points, assists and steals. He averaged 22 points, 5.4 assists, 4.7 combined rebounds and 1.5 steals for his entire career.
