Jaguars Star Pass-Rusher Mutes After Packers Loss

Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker Travon Walker spoke to the media following the team’s 30-27 victory over the Green Bay Packers, and we were there for it all.

See above to watch his interview.

Jaguars linebacker Foyesade Oluokun also spoke after the game. Below is a transcript.

Q: About the importance of self-confidence?

Oluokun: “How important is trust right now? That’s really important and I think we’ve done a good job coming in with confidence every week. I think we came ready to play. We couldn’t ease the tension in some important games here and there. I think no matter who you put out, I always think we’re confident and we’re prepared in the right way to win games. We must win the plays within the game that result in us winning the game. Every play is important, from the first quarter to the fourth quarter. “There is definitely confidence in winning and confidence in the preparations.”

Q: On the disappointment of losing even though you were confident?

Oluokun: “Is losing frustrating? Always. Difficult. Difficult. You have to go out there, prepare, see what you need to do a little bit differently to win the game, to be on the winning side of these games. “It’s definitely frustrating to lose.”

Q: What if it’s frustrating to do positive things but you can’t put the pieces together and get a win?

Oluokun: “This is the NFL. You may win the first quarter, but that doesn’t mean you’ll win the entire game. When I was a kid, I think I saw the Rams win the Super Bowl and lose to Tom Brady. You must win the first, second, third and fourth until the end. Good teams will win critical defeats. This critical decline may come in the second quarter. Big plays and complementary football is what we need to continue to develop and continue to learn how to play. That’s when the wins will start to increase. We have all the skills. I know you’re tired of hearing this, but we’re right there. We must execute when execution matters most.

Question: What if the team thinks the Packers will let it go to overtime?

Oluokun: “No, no, no. I think they came out with a run… I think we all thought this was the opening play they showed us twice, maybe three times at the beginning of the game, we all automatically went for it. This was a good chess game on their part, we went the ‘oh shit’ route to it. It was clear. I need to see. Don’t think so.”

Question: So, is it depressing that they couldn’t come back from a 10-point deficit and finish the match?

Oluokun: “Of course. It’s a gut punch. I don’t like to lose any game. It’s a gut punch. We played hard when we were there. Obviously, there were times when we played this game better and times when we didn’t play as well, but we were ready to win and we didn’t. So this is difficult. “This is very difficult.”
