Former President Donald Trump called them “enemies from within,” renewing previous comments suggesting political opponents pose a threat to the United States.

“When I say ‘the enemy within,’ the other side goes crazy,” Trump said on stage at Madison Square Garden on Sunday. “They’ve done some very bad things, they really are the enemy from within,” he said.

Trump previously made this statement during an appearance on Fox News earlier this month.

Speaking to Fox News host Maria Bartiromo, Trump said, “I think the biggest problem is the people inside,” and claimed that Democrats pose a greater threat to the 2024 presidential elections than major foreign rivals such as China and Russia.

“We have some very bad people. We have some sick people, some radical left lunatics,” Trump said at the time.

Despite what happened on January 6, 2021, Trump suggested deploying the military against them on American soil, arguing that they would be more likely to create chaos on November 5 than his supporters.

“I think this should be handled very easily by the National Guard if necessary or by the military if really necessary because they can’t allow this to happen,” Trump told Bartiromo.
