PROWERS COUNTY — At approximately 11:30 a.m., the Prowers County Sheriff responded to a call to the 500 block of E Oak Street about a two-year-old child trapped under a van.

Police teams arriving at the scene found that the 2-year-old child had died. The cause of death has not yet been determined by forensic medicine.

The girl’s name was not disclosed.

Prowers County said this is an active investigation and no suspects are in custody.
