LONDON (AP) — It was harder for Diogo Dalot to miss.

The Manchester United right-back summed up his side’s goalscoring woes this season when he rejected the easiest chance after being offered an open goal in Sunday’s Premier League match against West Ham.

The Portuguese national player lifted the ball beyond goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianksi with the shot taken by Bruno Fernandes and found himself in front of an empty goal.

Dalot collected himself before side-footing a ball that somehow bounced over the bar in what will go down as one of the failures of the season so far. He fell to the ground and put his arms over his head.

He kept the score at 0-0.

United started the game having scored seven goals in their first eight games. In the 20-team league, only two teams had fewer points.
