Israeli terrorist attack: 1 person died and 40 people were injured when a truck crashed into the Tel Aviv bus stop

One person died and approximately 40 people were injured when a truck crashed into a bus stop at an important intersection of the city in Tel Aviv, Israel, on Sunday. Israeli police suspect the incident was a terrorist attack and are investigating the driver’s motives.

Specifically, the incident occurred around 10:00 am (08:00 GMT) near the Glilot military base, when the truck driver, an Israeli citizen, went off route while traveling from north to south and crashed into a bus stop, hitting both the bus and people. I’m waiting there.

The driver was later shot and ‘neutralized’ by an armed civilian in the area, according to a report by . news agency Reuters.

Nearly 40 people were injured in the incident, some of them in serious condition. The injured were quickly transported to nearby hospitals, including Ichilov Medical Center in Tel Aviv; where one of the victims tragically succumbed to his injuries.

Another medical facility in the area, Sheba Medical Center, treated eight injured people, including civilians and soldiers, police said.

Israeli media reported that the driver was an Israeli Arab from the central Israeli town of Kalansawe.

Iran-backed terrorist group Hamas made a statement shortly after the incident, praising the “heroic attack” carried out near the “Mossad headquarters”.

The Glilot district, located near Herzliya, hosts the headquarters of Mossad, Israel’s national intelligence agency. This area also houses various units of the intelligence branch of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF); most notably the leading Signals Intelligence Unit 8200, known for its role in national security and cyber intelligence.

“It is a natural reaction to the crimes committed by the Zionist occupation against our Palestinian people in Gaza, the West Bank and Jerusalem, and especially to the ongoing brutal massacres in the north of the Gaza Strip.” Israeli times Hamas was quoted as saying this, but the terrorist group did not claim responsibility for the incident.
