A tentative agreement has been reached between the City of Lethbridge and more than 900 employees of CUPE Local 70.

The union said negotiations with the city had been going on for 20 months and an agreement was reached Wednesday.

CUPE represents indoor and outdoor workers in various city departments, including waste and recycling, water, parks and community services.

A local representative for CUPE told CTV News no further details about the agreement will be released until they have the opportunity to present it to their members.

This meeting is expected to be held in the first week of November.
