NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – The Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) is asking for the public’s help in investigating a fatal hit-and-run involving a pedestrian in Lawrence County.

According to THP, the crash occurred early Saturday morning on U.S. Highway 43 near Smith Circle, within Loretto city limits.

THP said the accident occurred around 2:20 a.m.

Investigators said they were looking for a silver 2000 to 2010 Ford Ranger or Mazda extended-cab pickup truck with front-end damage.

The truck was last seen heading north toward Lawrenceburg, authorities said.
