The stepfather of Delphi murder suspect Richard Allen was reportedly caught snoring during a deposition as he tied his stepson to the scene where two teenage girls were brutally murdered.

Jurors on Friday endured more than seven hours of intense, technical testimony from Melissa Oberg, a former firearms forensics expert with the Indiana State Police, who explained how she determined an unused bullet was found near the bodies of 13-year-old Abby Williams and Libby. German, 14, was strapped to a gun found in Allen’s home.

Allen’s stepfather was heard snoring and was seen closing his eyes during the dry argument, despite being nudged awake. Daily Mail reported.

Oberg stated that during a search in October 2022, he fired a .40-caliber Sig Sauger pistol found in Allen’s home and fired several bullets.

He concluded that the “tool marks” left on the bullets he fired were similar to those on the unexpended cartridge found at the scene.

Allen’s defense attorney, Bradley Rozzi, tried to sow doubt in the minds of jurors about the accuracy of the firearm evaluation during cross-examination.

He also stated that Oberg reached this conclusion by comparing the bullet to spent bullets, not to unused bullets that passed through the gun without being fired.
