Two people were hospitalized with serious injuries after being stabbed at a store in North Georgia.

Dalton police say 67-year-old Terry Lee Chamlee walked into Rose’s discount store Friday afternoon and stabbed a woman several times before walking out.

He tried to run away, but a Dalton police officer stopped him in the parking lot. Instead of surrendering, the man began stabbing him several times in the chest.

Chamlee fell and was taken into custody.

Ambulances took Chamlee and the unidentified victim to the hospital. There is no information about the condition of either of them.

Investigators say charges have not yet been finalized but will include aggravated assault and attempted murder.
