FAYETTE CO., Ala.(WAFF) – A Florence woman died after a wreck in Fayette County Friday morning, authorities said.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), a single-vehicle crash occurred around 5:45 a.m. on Alabama 13 after a woman driving a 2009 Kia Rio left the roadway and crashed into a ditch.

Authorities identified the driver of the Kia as 28-year-old Madalyn G. Powell.

Authorities said Powell was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident continues to be investigated by ALEA.
