HYRUM, Utah — The Cache County Sheriff’s Office is working with the Hill Air Force Base ordnance disposal team to safely handle possible military ordnance found buried on a local resident’s property.

After responding, deputies confirmed the object’s appearance, suggesting it may have been military ordnance, and notified Hill Air Force Base officials.

Deputies evacuated nearby homes as a precaution, as Hill Air Force Base’s explosive ordnance disposal team was on scene to manage the safe removal and disposal of the material.

Meanwhile, citizens are asked to stay away from the immediate surroundings. More updates will be provided as needed.
