MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) – Minnesota First Lady Gwen Walz, wife of Democratic Vice Presidential Candidate Tim Walz, will travel to the UP for a campaign event on Friday.

The visit is among a list of prominent Democratic figures who have visited the region in the past few weeks. Chasten Buttigieg, Kamala Harris’ sister MayaAnd Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders They recently held campaign events to rally voters.

According to the Harris-Walz campaign, Walz will discuss her husband’s agenda to protect women’s health care and economic opportunities.

Walz’s speech is expected to begin at 6:30 pm ET on the Northern Michigan University campus. TV6 will broadcast the speech live here.
