Parents of Cottonwood Heights woman accused of killing husband arrested

Gledhill appears to contradict himself on origin of body bruises

Rosalie and Thomas Gledhill are charged with multiple first-degree felonies in connection with the death of Matthew Johnson.

Gledhill’s parents are accused of helping Jennifer clean the house where she allegedly shot Johnson in the head on Sept. 21 or 22. Jennifer Gledhill was arrested on October 2 after she said a man she was in a relationship with reported it to the police. He confessed to killing Johnson, who was serving in the Utah National Guard.

A neighbor told police they saw Gledhill’s parents cleaning the house late into the evening on September 24, but Rosalie claimed they were only there for an hour. Gledhill’s mother said she purchased the mattress from Amazon at her daughter’s request.

The ongoing investigation into Johnson’s death revealed that the new bed was in the Cottonwood Heights home where he was shot. Police have not yet found the bed or Johnson’s body, which was previously found in the home.

Neither of Gledhill’s parents cooperated with the police investigation or the discovery of the body, according to arrest documents.

When detectives executed a search warrant at Gledhill’s parents’ home, they found a plastic box containing a Glock 19x gun box wrapped in a child’s overalls. The district attorney’s office said the gun box matched. The gun model Gledhill showed to the man who alerted the police.
