A young boy suffered “very serious head trauma” after a collision between an electric bike and a car.

West Yorkshire Police said the crash happened at the junction of Lombard Street and Sherbrooke Avenue in Leeds just after 13:00 GMT on Sunday, and the 16-year-old e-bike rider remained in hospital on Monday.

The male driver of the Audi Q7 was arrested on suspicion of drug use but was released under investigation.

Police asked anyone who saw the collision to contact them.
