As we continue to listen to Trump speak, let’s step back for a second and talk about why he’s holding a rally in New York; It’s a safe state for Democrats and one that Trump is almost certain to lose on Election Day. Biden beat her by more than 50 points in 2020.

There are a few points to consider.

First of all, this is really a fundraiser and Trump needs the money. Harris’ campaign has avoided having to tip its hat to donors by raising more than $1 billion. Trump hasn’t quite reached that point yet, but today he’s selling tickets to the “Ultra Maga Experience” at Madison Square Garden for $1 million.

It’s unclear what these tickets will get you, but their sale will certainly help Trump buy some TV ads in the final days of the election.

Second, he is helping other Republican candidates running for seats in the House of Representatives in New York. Republicans had great success in a handful of key districts here, which likely helped them gain control of the House of Representatives, which helped thwart Biden’s policy efforts.

Finally, this is where Trump comes from, his Trump Tower is here and his whole personality is tied to this city. I don’t think he ever liked how people in New York City received him or his policies. This is a good way for him to turn his nose up at them.
