The Kansas City Chiefs decided to bring back familiar faces this season, especially on the offensive side, in order to strengthen some positions during the difficult long season that will chase the Super Bowl for the third consecutive year. Unfortunately, one of these players died after suffering a serious leg injury during a win over the Las Vegas Raiders.

The Chiefs watched Jody Fortson go down with a worrying leg injury late in the game as the Raiders attempted a final onside kick to get away with the ball and give the Chiefs one last possession to try to tie the game.

After the game, head coach Andy Reid spoke to the media and said: Fortson had a right knee injury He said he was injured and would undergo further testing after requesting post-game treatment from the Chiefs practice staff. More details will likely become known on Monday.

Fortson returned to the Chiefs in September after his stint with the Miami Dolphins did not last as long as expected.
