Detective Says Woman Accused of Killing Her Sister Tried to Blame Crime on Romantic Rival

Brittani Harmon

A woman accused of shooting her roommate sister in the back of the head posed as a romantic rival and called police to say she did it, according to testimony in General Sessions Court.

Judge Lila Statom handed down a first-degree murder charge to the Grand Jury against Brittani Harmon in the death of 26-year-old Brianna Harmon.

Video captured from Ring doorbell camera Brittani Harmon was seen leaving the house with her daughter at 8201 Thrush Hollow Lane. There was also video of the mother and daughter getting into a white Lyft cab and then being dropped off at Publix on McCutcheon Road.

Another video shows Brittani Harmon calling 911 at Publix posing as Anastasia Hughley, who was previously identified as the pregnant girlfriend of Brittani Harmon’s husband, Nelson Moore.

The 911 caller said he had just killed a woman and that the victim’s body could be found on the couch.

Detective Brandon Septor said when he arrived at the home, his sister was dead, lying on her side on the couch. There was a huge bloodbath nearby.

He said the bullet entered the back of his head, exited his cheek and hit the sofa.

It was stated that many people lived in the house, but others were at work.

The detective said the two sisters used the living room as a sleeping area.

He said there were several guns in the house and that he had been notified the previous day that another gun was found in the laundry basket.

Erinn O’Leary of the Public Defender’s Office asked the detective if he checked to see if the little girl was shooting.

Homicide lead prosecutor Paul Moyle said Criminal Court Judge Amanda Dunn recently held a hearing where she revoked Ms Harmon’s bail after hearing testimony about the murder.
